Hope you're seeing signs of Spring (or Autumn for our friends in the Southern Hemisphere). We've had two modestly successful launches on ProductHunt and r/macOS since my last update.
Here are two key takeaways: First, whenever I share DoubleMemory, people show genuine interest. Second, while we're offering a fresh approach to bookmarking & read-later, most people feel their current solution works well enough (they are not looking). This means we need to create more distinct features and build a more compelling product—and that's where I need your help!
Thank you to everyone who upvoted or commented! As we work to make development sustainable long-term, promoting the app remains a priority. One challenge we face is visibility on the App Store—we currently have no reviews. If DoubleMemory has been helpful to you, please consider leaving a review on the Mac App Store (Mac only).
Here's what's new in the latest DoubleMemory version, now available on the App Store:
We've rewritten the Double Copy detection logic to work smoothly with other clipboard managers. This should drastically cut down any conflicts or unintended captures when running with other clipboard managers.
We've added a menu bar option to pause Double Capture. If you're still experiencing conflicts or prefer alternative capture methods, you can now:
Drag and drop any text or link into the dock icon, menu bar icon, or app itself
Right click on any link or text and select Services → Keep in DoubleMemory
Use Share Sheet → DoubleMemory
We've added a custom timing setting for double copy detection—you can now choose between 1-10 seconds instead of the fixed 5 seconds (thanks to the feedback from reddit launch above). This is particularly helpful for the Arc Browser Command Bar, which automatically triggers a clipboard copy when you paste into it. (I believe it’s a bug and beyond our control)
